Welcome to the Harps Newsletter, the first one of the year. Here is where you will find all of the monthly updates, information and just plain fun facts about the happenings of the club. You are getting this newsletter because you have paid membership (or are an honorary member of the Harps)!
It is with great pleasure that I congratulate all the members of the club that participated in the Bahrain Games. The Men's Social team brought home the Cup. The Women's Intermediate team brought home a third place finish, losing to Al Reem by just one point in the Semi-Finals. The Women's Social team also brought home a third place finish as well after a tough one point decision kept them from playing in the final. This was the best outcome from all teams that we have ever had. There is so much to look forward to as a Harps with about 3 more tournaments to go this year.
We held our first Youth Day of the year as well this month. This was a huge event with nearly 60 kids in attendance. Huge shout out to Elli for doing a fantastic job putting on the event and to all of the volunteers who came out and helped our youth learn about this great game we all have in common. Our hopes are to have more in order to keep our youth involved.
Don't forget that the tournament in RAK is coming up soon. The date for this is the weekend of 16th-18th January. At the moment, this is an Intermediate tournament, so we must talk numbers as soon as soon. We appreciate that many us will have just got back from Winter Break and funds will be tight. If you are able and willing please make sure you speak to your coaches and book as soon as you can before the break to save your place. The weekends away are always really good fun and they bring you on massively in your playing so it's well worth it!
Finally... HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! From our family to yours, we would like to wish you a very special holiday season. May the days be merry and bright!
As always, stay posted on Social Media to find out more information.

Player Rep, Sarah: It's been a great first half of the year with over 30 Harps ladies on the team and it was awesome to be able to field a full Intermediate and Social team in Bahrain. We always welcome new members so if you know anyone who is interested, invite them along!

Coach Hannah: Thank you all for the hard work and commitment for the season so far. Bahrain was a great representation of what the girls teams have to bring to the league. We'll bring home silverware in RAK!
Coach Jack: It's been a great start to the season and it has been fantastic to see all the new and returning faces turn out for some of the training sessions.
The guys gave such a great effort in Bahrain and it was brilliant to bring back that Cup!
Youth Development Officer, Elli: Thank you to all of those who came out to volunteer to make Youth Day such a success. We are working on a Youth Pilot Program to keep kids even more interested in Gaelic. Please reach out if you are interested in helping.
Public Relations Officers, Crystal and Trista: Take a look on our website. The pictures from the Youth Day are uploaded for parents to see, however, there are great pictures of you all interacting with the kids that you'll love!
